LITTERS OF OUTSIDE FEMALES BRED TO ORUMHAUS STUDS OR ORUMHAUS FEMALES OWNED BY OTHERS:

Note: Orumhaus Kennels does not guarantee pups born to females NOT owned by Orumhaus Kennels.  We add these litters to our "Announcement Page" as a courtesy, however, by adding the litter to our page, we acknowledge that the female is, in our opinion, a "quality" female in good health and showed a good temperament at the time of breeding, or while she was in our possession.
If you have ANY QUESTIONS regarding one of our STUD DOGS, please give us a call or send an email, and we'll be happy to answer your questions.

The Breed of the German Shepherd Dog - Breed originated in 1899

Captain Max von Stephanitz, known as the "father" of the German Shepherd breed, worked diligently throughout his life to set guidelines for maintaining the intelligence and workability of the German Shepherd Dog. He wrote many valuable articles about the breed.

Before you purchase your puppy, read and consider the following statement by Captain Stephanitz. "Because, unfortunately, he was not trained in his youth, he was, if left to his own devices, the worst of mischief-makers, the wildest of fighters, and an intractable nuisance. His faults were the faults of his education, not of his nature. He suffered from under-utilization of his great need for activity, for if someone worked with him, he was blissfully happy and the most obedient of dogs".

Puppy Socialization & Training

The German Shepherd Dog is a working dog and a very intelligent dog. It is absolutely necessary that your puppy be socialized! We have already began socializing your pup, but when you take him home, it is your responsibility to love, socialize and train your puppy so that he/she will become an obedient and treasured family member. ALL training should be motivational and positive. Schutzhund is a highly recommended sport where you can work with your puppy/dog and can become a team. Since each GSD is an individual, there are many different sports and obedience levels that you can try.

It should be noted that the minimum requirements for your puppy should be 1) puppyhood & adolescence period: let your puppy experience as many GOOD experiences (people, kids, etc) as he possibily can during the first year; 2) exercise: your puppy will need regular appropriate exercise; 3) socialization: attending a puppy socialization class in addition to experiencing new things and 4) DAILY INTERACTION with you and your family: TALK to your puppy and interact with him, TEACH him, like you would a child, and let him be a part of your family! He will reward you more than you can imagine.
