Puppy Update - Week 1: I am excited to share with you that Anni and her babies are doing great! These pups are strong and healthy and growing fast! In the video below, you will see photos taken each day. Be sure to look at the newborn photos and compare them to the photos taken today. Anni’s appetite is triple the normal amount of her food quantity, but that’s ok … she is eating for 10!

Puppy Update - Week 2: Anni’s pups will be two weeks old tomorrow, and with hearty appetites and a Mom with plenty of milk, they are growing well. On Saturday, the pups opened their eyes and they are beginning to respond to my voice and other sounds. I will post their second week photos tomorrow evening, but in the meantime …. here is a video of the babies tonight.

• Strong and healthy
• Received 1st worming
• Getting more active and playful
• Started on “puppy gruel” twice a day (what I call soft & wet puppy food). Mom is still the main source of food and she still has an abundance of milk.
• Cutting “baby teeth”
• Received first toenail trim.

Puppy Update – Week 4: We have made it through the holidays … and I don’t know about you, but I am glad to be getting back into my regular routine! The pups are doing great, becoming stronger and more active. Here are this week’s updates on the puppies:

• No more baby puppies … they have their big pen to now!
• Much more playful and interactive with me and with each other
• Puppy teeth are here! Our puppies are now officially “ankle biter” puppies … LOL (They love to sample my ankles when I’m in their pen with them)
• Anni is still nursing occasionally, but the pups look forward to 3 puppy meals a day now, with snacks in between (boiled eggs, cottage cheese)

Puppy Update – Week 5: The pups are now 5 weeks old, and Anni has officially “weaned” them! NO MORE MILK from Momma! She still plays with them … when she lets them catch her … LOL. These pups are so outgoing, curious and drive you for attention! They love me to sit with them and play with them and they really love their toys! I had hoped to have their new colored collars on them by this week’s photos, however, the collars have not arrived yet. Here are this week’s updates:

• Pups received another worming
• Toenails were trimmed again
• Began supervised outdoor playtime during the afternoon
• New toys

Puppy Update – Week 6: Anni and Ice’s pups are 6 weeks old now! The past week has been very busy for them. The pups received their first set of puppy shots and another worming on 1/14/12. On Sunday, I introduced them to the “doggy door”, and they love to go in and out! The pups have a hearty appetite, and have been introduced to baby carrots. As you can see in the photos, the first pup to grab a carrot runs for cover under the puppy ramp … there they can munch on a carrot or toy without having to share! … that almost reminds me of being a kid myself! :)

Puppies will begin going home on the weekend of 1/28 – 29/12. I will email everyone this weekend, and begin setting up “pickup” appointment times.
